Finding cheaper motorcycle insurance can be a chore; some companies that offer automobile insurance will not insure motorcycles, ATVs, boats or other similar vehicles. You may have to go with a separate insurance company to insure your motorcycle. Before shopping for insurance, it is also helpful to have completed a motorcycle safety course, as this not only gives you valuable skills, but can also get you a hefty discount on your bike insurance. Other things that can help are a well-organized driving record and being in the military or being a college student. Age is also an important factor in motorcycle insurance costs.

Trusted Local Agent

First, contact your local insurance agent with whom you already have insurance on your home, car or other items. Your agent will be able to let you know what types of policies they offer for motorcycles that will give you great coverage in the event of an accident and fit your budget as well. If you don't have a trusted local agent, or your current insurance company does not insure motorcycles, you can still obtain a fair and reasonable insurance quote in other ways.

Other Agent or Bank/Credit Union
If you don't already have an insurance agent, or your current insurer does not handle motorcycle insurance, call an insurance agent in your local station to inquire of a quote. You may also be able to do this by visiting their website, if you know whom you would like to work with. You can also try your bank or credit union, as these institutions sometimes offer insurance policies of all types, including motorcycle insurance. You may also be eligible for discounts on your motorcycle insurance policy just by having an established business relationship and accounts in ample standing with the institution. In addition, if you have your motorcycle financed through a manufacturer's finance company, they may also offer motorcycle insurance policies, so don't forget to research that avenue.

Online
If none of the above options work for you, exhaust an internet search engine to locate the websites for several major motorcycle insurers and request quotes from them. There are also services that allow you to input your information, and the site will generate quotes from several insurers at one time. This task can be done at any time of the day from the comfort of your own home, and it takes very little effort. In addition, some insurers will let you consume your policy and print the relevant documents on your home computer. This eliminates the need to visit an agent or insurance company in person and disrupt your schedule.

If you have a motorcycle, one of the most important things you can do for your vehicle and yourself and any passengers you might transport, is to provide proper insurance coverage. You can do this without busting your budget, if you take your time, do the proper research, and comparison shop.

Whether or not to use a website to market your company is a question that often comes to mind for today’s business owner. However, in our fast paced society, consumers are seeking quality at a reasonable brand, and they want it right now. If you are not using internet technology, you are way behind. The Service industry is of no exception. A website is a useful tool for even those offering automotive repair, insurance, dry cleaning, general consulting, lawn care, etc.

As piece of your overall marketing belief, the exercise of a website will support other components of your promotional strategy. A website is an easy way to help you attract potential customers and provide a showcase of your work or offerings. It can be very basic or a progressive site which manages your customer base, too. No matter what the goal, a website lets consumers catch a glimpse of how you provide a quality service. It can provide them with answers to many questions while enticing them to reach for the phone.

Is your goal to be informational only or do you want a website to help grow your business? Making this decision should be your first choice. A simple online brochure may be just enough to get your name out there. However, most visitors to the site will be part of your prime target market and capturing their contact info will set up a captive prospect list. They may be “shopping” around, but if they fill out a contact sheet, they are serious about what you have to offer.

For all general purposes, I want to exhaust more time on content ideas rather than the mechanics of a website. However, your next step is to decide if you are savvy enough to set up the site yourself or if you need professional assistance. You might ask colleagues or friends with websites for referrals of experts in the field or “google” the various free domains and numerous ways to gain help online.

Now to capture potential sales lead information you should put a simple form on your home page that will allow you to obtain demographic information including email address. Make it simple for visitors to glance and persuade them to leave their contact information by offering a reward for completion. It might be a percent off first service or coupons to a local eatery or a business that compliments yours. Also, this offer can be delivered completely automated on their printer while they are on your status.

Now you have access to a very cost effective advertising tool – email. These visitors are giving you permission to contact them and you can continue to send messages/offers again and again for dinky investment.

The main message of your website must however be all about who you are, the services you offer, and about the benefits of using your service. Don’t forget to acquire it all about them such as by using your service they will gain more free time with family, be the envy of the neighborhood or back on the road for less expense, etc.

Don’t ignore some of the obvious, tried and true features, your website should be simple, easy to read and the user ought to collect through to your benefits or offerings in one or two clicks of the mouse. Also consider the following:

- Fast moving text, loud music, or busy pages can turn off a good number of consumers, low volume and clean lines are the best choice.

- Pictures are a must, especially if they positively showcase your “work.” Possible uses might be a before and after gallery.

- When possible, include testimonials from customers. This will motivate interested prospects more than anything you could ever say. This could be done in text or video format.

- Research has shown that 80% of all internet users exercise Internet Explorer, so design your site for optimal viewing with Internet Explorer.

Finally, the use of keywords is an excellent way to ensure that internet users will be directed to your site. There are various fee-for-use methods available that will allow you to choose “key” words that picture your business. Your website host or webmaster can show you a number of strategies for doing this.

Tracking down the best rates for auto insurance can be a complex process, especially if you want to review different plans in detail and get the most right rates. However, there are several online auto insurance quote providers that can fabricate this search and review process easier.

Companies such as esurance.com, onlineautoinsurance.com, insurance.com and 2insure4less.com allow you to conduct a side-by-side comparison of several leading insurance providers so you can submit a formal application to a provider within minutes.

Here’s a close look at how this process works:

Process of Getting an Auto Insurance Quote Online

There are several dozen online auto insurance quote providers available, and each one has a similar process for submitting your preliminary insurance information. You will need to submit your zip code, basic vehicle information, and personal information that includes any information about accidents or violations on your driving record. The quote providers will then process your preliminary application for insurance by submitting it to several insurance providers. You may receive an e-mail notification when this process is complete, or receive an instant quote in a popup window online.

When you receive the quotes, you will be able to see a variety of options from each insurance provider. When you bewitch a plan or program, you may be taken directly to the insurance provider’s website to complete the rest of your application and confirm your application with a representative over the phone. Some quote providers eliminate this extra step and allow you to complete the entire application from start to finish from their website.

Online Auto Insurance Quote Providers

Esurance.com – this online auto insurance quote provider promises to deliver an accurate quote in 6 minutes or less. You can save your quote and compare several quotes from leading insurance providers fairly easily; this site also allows you to manage your policy directly through the region, instead of printing information from your selected insurance provider.

OnlineAutoInsurance.com – this auto insurance quote provider allows you to regain quotes from major insurance providers such as Progressive, GMAC, Infinity and Align General amongst others. After comparing different quotes and selecting the cheapest rate, you can purchase your premium directly through this site.

Insurance.com – this website allows you to do research about car insurance in your state, in addition to submitting your personal information to score the best quote. Auto insurance quotes are obtained from 21st Century Insurance, Liberty Mutual, MetLife Auto, Travelers, and Permanent General Assurance Corporation amongst others.

2Insure4Less.com - this comprehensive site features a learning center so you can find out more about different insurance plans and types of coverage available, and submit your information for a quote online. The site is easy to navigate, and promises to provide quotes that can build you up to 40% or more on car insurance.

Factors that Affect Your Auto Insurance Quote

One of the biggest benefits of requesting auto insurance quotes online is saved time; instead of visiting each insurance provider’s website to submit your information for a quote, you can submit your information one time on an quote provider’s station and get instant quotes from several insurance companies at once. However, the downside to this process is that the quotes received will only be an estimate.

Your actual rate may vary significantly after the insurance provider has reviewed your driving record and determined your level of eligibility for different rate programs. Factors that affect your final auto insurance quote, and that aren’t taken into consideration when you submit your initial information for a quote, include:

-Your credit rating

-Number of drivers who will be driving the car

-Level of insurance coverage you had previously

–Main purpose/use of the vehicle

Years of driving experience

-Number of theft protection devices on the vehicle

Five Best Cars to Rent on Vacation – If you happen to be one of the lucky ones about to select a holiday trip, there is always lots of planning along the lines of airplane tickets, hotel accommodations, and of course, car rental. As a frequent traveler, I’ve rented a variety of cars in the last few years. As with buying a vehicle, the consumer will find that with rentals, there are good cars, and then there are lemons.

Special consideration should be given to your travel plans. If accompanied by an entire family, you may opt for a minivan or SUV. A larger vehicle is especially handy if your plans include carting around a lot of equipment, like golf clubs, skis, musical equipment, or even if you just happen to have a family member who packs everything but the kitchen sink.

Also, keep in mind the area of the country you are visiting. If you are going to California where gas prices are typically higher than anywhere else in the US, you may want to travel light and choose a fuel-efficient compact car or hybrid. Car rental companies jumped on the hybrid bandwagon some time ago. If your travels take you to snow and ice, a sturdy SUV may be a better choice for traction in inclement weather.

Certainly, when renting a car, one has to believe all of the possibilities, such as rental rate and vehicle availability. The consumer may want to choose a company because of ties to a common frequent flyer program, or may prefer to choose one company over another because you belong to their preferred renter program. However, if the playing field was level and the rental was based on personal choice, here would be my top five picks for the best cars to rent on vacation:

Cadillac CTS. This may be a premium rental, and we were lucky on one lunge when our lesser car of choice was no longer available. The rental agency gave us a free upgrade for our trouble, and I wasn’t going to refuse! The Cadillac CTS has a trunk roomy enough for a full contingent of a family of four, and the interior is luxurious and spacious: leather seats and lots of cup holders. The Cadillac CTS we rented also came with satellite radio. We were in heaven!

Jeep Cherokee. This car is a approved for visits to the Rockies. The Cherokee is a small but sturdy SUV, more manageable than the larger Chevrolet Tahoe. The four-wheel-drive comes in handy when trying to navigate treacherous and unpaved mountain terrain. It has enough pick up up and go to make it through the passes in the higher elevations. I can tell you from experience that many smaller cars do not obtain as well under these conditions.

Chevrolet Aveo or Cobalt. Either of these two compact cars are my favorite for trips to San Francisco. Both have plenty of power to build it up and down the steep hills, and both are extremely fuel-efficient. With parking at a premium in the downtown areas, the spaces may seem a tad bit smaller than you may be used to. Maneuvering either of these two small Chevies is easy to do in the confines of a large, busy city.

Toyota Prius. This one is my favorite, because, well… I drive one at home. The interior of the Prius is extraordinarily roomy for a small car, it drives easily, and you can’t argue with the fuel savings. The newer models come with GPS and rear cameras, so you can see where you are backing. (A downside to the Prius is the enormous blind spot on either side, one that is more apparent if you’re a cramped person like I am.)

Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Let’s say your travels are taking you somewhere hot and sunny. Why not celebrate your good fortune of escaping the snow and cold by renting a convertible? The Chrysler Sebring would be my choice over any other model, including the company’s PT Cruiser convertible. The Sebring is mid-sized, zippy and looks broad.

Of course, when renting any vehicle, make sure you check out the fine print before committing or clicking your choice. When at the rental counter, always ask if there are free upgrades available that day. (It does happen.) Be sure you are covered on your personal car insurance before checking the liability waiver.

Then, get in and drive!
